Rachel is a fantastic teacher and our daughter has flourished with her guidance and knowledge over the past year. I studied with Rachel during my NCEA level 2 year, (Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Biology) and I don't think I would have passed without her help. She made learning interesting and fun. Rachel has been a lifesaver! During my three years of NCEA I’ve tried all the different tutoring companies from around the wanaka area, and can say with confidence that Rachel helped the most. I can credit getting excellence in my level 3 algebra external exam to the time spent with her. After lengthy absence from school I was feeling overwhelmed and very underprepared for my exams. However, thanks to Rachel’s ability to quickly and thoroughly explain difficult concepts (in a few cases, concepts I had been spending days trying to wrap my head around in class would take only a few minutes with Rachel to gain an equally good understanding of). In addition, Rachel is easygoing and super friendly, which combined with her brilliant ability as a tutor was able to change my hopeless outlook on exams to feeling well prepared, supported and dare I say really enjoying maths!
Rachel has years of experience with the NCEA system and has awesome insight to how to get the grade you want and how to form the best exam strategies and techniques (always unique to every assessment!). I could go on for ages, but in summary, Rachel has been incredible. Thanks to her I have a love for maths and science, and plan on taking engineering at UC as a result!
